Enter the world of earth’s most beloved cat or should I say, little girl.
The moment we stepped in, we knew we’re in a different world. Full of Sanrio characters, everything in pink, and a lot of adorable stuff that any girl in this world would want to have. Cuteness overload everywhere. ❤
Calling all Hello Kitty fans out there, read on. 🙂
To maximize our trip to Johor Bahru, Malaysia, we took a side trip to Hello Kitty Town in Nusajaya which is located in the same town. It’s an almost 5-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur so we booked the earliest trip to at least arrive at noon time. We alighted at Larkin Sentral Bus Station and hopped on a bus bounded to Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park.
The indoor theme park is conveniently roosted at a 4-level building, so even though it was raining hard that day, we haven’t got any problems of getting wet while enjoying the attractions inside.
A ‘must-see’ here is the Kitty’s House, which features Hello Kitty’s beautifully designed and furnished rooms, from living room to kitchen to the dainty bedroom. Everything was perky and pleasant to one’s eyes.
There’s also a Purrfect Stage, a show for kids wherein they can watch their favorite Sanrio characters sing and dance on stage. It’s also a chance for a meet and greet encounter with these darling mascots.
We then made our way to the Hello Kitty Black Wonder, a maze wherein you need to crack the codes to rescue Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel which were both in prison.
When you enter, you’ll be given a lamp and instructions, a signal for your to start your own adventure. With the dim-lit ambiance and some props, you can really feel the intensity of this dark and mysterious game.
We roamed around the place without decoding anything due to lack of time since we’ll be visiting Legoland too. I saw some parents who were very supportive to their kids. Supportive enough that they’re the ones who mostly did the running and screaming. Can’t help but to smile, it is such a touching sight.
Near the exit (and entrance) is the Red Bow Cafe which serves hello kitty-inspired snacks and pastries. You’ll definitely adore the artsy walls and the furniture. Beside the cafe is a souvenir shop which showcases a lot of stuff of this Sanrio’s dearest character. From toys to shirts to school supplies, it is really a sanctuary of delight for a Hello Kitty collector.
Hello Kitty Town created a colorful, whimsical environment perfect for family bonding and if you have made plans visiting Legoland in Johor Bahru, it wouldn’t hurt to make a quick visit to this indoor theme park as well. 🙂
Hello Kitty Town is located at Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park, a 4-level building, located strategically in Nusajaya, Johor Bahru, Malaysia, 20 minutes drive from the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link, 25 minutes away from the Senai International Airport or 10 minutes away from LEGOLAND® Malaysia. Visit their website for more information.
Note: This Malaysia trip was held last December 2012.
Omg so adorable! I want that chair and that bookshelf. It’s like a dream come true if I do 🙂 – Lena
